What's new with this version:

The program was completely redesigned from version 4.8.

1. First and foremost the printing issues should be completely resolved. There

are two different ways to set column spacing for printing the list: user defined

and system defined. You will need to perform a test print to determine which

way best suits your needs.

2. What is new with the main form:

a. Program will keep track of the previous 15 scanned directories.

b. Ability to copy, cut, rename, and delete files.

c. Ability to change a files time stamp and attributes.

d. Ability to copy, cut, and delete directories.

e. Ability to change the formatting of the list without performing the

search again.

f. Ability to search the listing for a word or phrase.

g. Ability to open directories to explore along with programs.

h. Ability to sort any column.

i. Ability to sort directories only.

j. Search statistics kept by the program.

k. Ability to change font that will carry on to all other print jobs

for the program.

l. Choose directory form is the standard open file dialog box.

m. Ability to use drag and drop to initiate that program.

3. What is new with the formatting form:

a. Ability to show empty directories.

b. Ability to limit search of sub-directories.

c. Ability to choose how listing is displayed:

1. Show directories and files

2. Don't show files

3. Don't show directories

4. Show files first

5. Show directories first

d. Show sub-totals now has grand total of all files in search.

e. Issue with size being negative with some files corrected.

f. Ability to insert empty lines between directories.

g. Ability to determine the format of a file's time stamp.

h. Filter list by date and by size.

i. Ability to print or save individual formatting pages or all formatting options.

4. What is new with the Treeview form:

a. Ability to save the treeview structure of the listing.

b. Ability to search the treeview structure for a word or phrase.

c. Ability to expand or collapse the treeview structure.

d. Ability to change the way the treeview structure is viewed.

5. What is new with the Print form:

a. Ability to print or save printing options.

b. Ability to change printer font.

c. Program will remember changes to printer font.

d. Ability to create user defined headers or footers.

e. Ability to limit column heading printing to none, single, or all pages.

f. Two different ways to determine column spacing.

6. New form - Search stats:

a. Will give directory, file counts scanned, and differences.

b. Will give directory, file counts listed, and differences.

c. Will give time stamps of when search began, ended, and time difference.

d. Will give time stamps of when display began, ended, and time difference.

e. Will give time stamps of when treeview structure creation began, ended, and time difference.

f. Ability to print or save search stats.

7. New form - Save format:

a. Ability to split the different parts of individual columns when performing a Save as (.csv or .txt).

b. Ability to determine if column headers should be saved as well.

c. Ability to print or save the save formatting options.

8. New form - File edit:

a. Ability to change the time stamp of created, last access, and last written of files.

b. Ability to change the attributes of a file.

c. Ability to print or save the changes to files that where made.

9. New form - Find in file:

a. Ability to search for a word or phrase inside of files.

b. Ability to perform incremental searches within files that where found in a previous search.

c. Ability to print or save the Find in files results.

10. Price has increased to $30.00.

IMPROVEMENTS

Improved searching, reporting, memory reclaiming capabilities. The limit of the files

and sub-directories to be searched, like always, will depend upon your system memory,

but now the limit should be increased. The system that I created the program on,

Pentium 3 with 256RAM, I have searched approx. 6000 files in about a minute and a half,

2.5 minutes to create the tree view, and approximately 5 minutes to place the search in

in alphabetical order with all options turned on.

Note:

Remember that the search of the sub-directories is time consuming

and very memory intensive. Please limit the search of subdirectories

to the above.

FUTURE UPGRADES

All upgrades to this program will be listed on my web site and will be free to registered

users.

INSTALLATION:

The program should install itself after it has been unzipped, then just follow the directions

on the screen. If it does not self-install, unzip the software to the directory of your choice,

click on:

Start >

Run >

Browse >

Navigate to the above directory and double click on the

Setup.exe, then click on Run, and follow the directions on

the screen.

UNINSTALL:

To uninstall Widget Print Directory click on:

Start >

Settings >

Control Panel >

Double click on "Add/Remove Programs"

Select "Print Directory V5.2"

Click on the add/remove button
